The Los Angeles Lakers are really scary -- and not in a good way. What many people considered to be some sort of "Dream Team" are now 0-2 and some irrational fans are starting to believe there may have been more meaning to the winless preseason after all.
Things don't get any easier for the Lakers when they take on their hallway rival Los Angeles Clippers. There is a very good possibility this team may start 0-3, but they should be able to climb back up to .500 soon after the Clipper game with matchups against Detroit, Utah, Golden State, and Sacramento.
Lakers fans, don't step out on that ledge just yet. There's no need to panic, or call for Mike Brown to be fired, or any of that nonsense. It's a new squad and they need time to come together much in the same way it took the Miami Heat a while to get on a roll and win some games.
I must admit, watching the first two games have been a chore. They look lifeless, unmotivated, and have that feeling about them in which they appear that they should just win games by showing up.
Their two opponents so far (Dallas and Portland) have come out with fire and excitement.
Nothing is ever won during October and November of the NBA season, so give these guys a chance to start clicking with each other.
One other note -- Metta World Peace already looks like he is head hunting out there. Look for his first ejection to take place in the next seven days.

I'm not even a big laker fan, but I think all of this is from chemistry issues. Remember how the heat went 8-8 at first, now look at them. I don't like them either but they are clearly one of the best teams, if not the best team, in the NBA. Once they play together a bit more I think they'll be okay.
